Hogwarts First Summer Holiday
Hogwarts First Summer Holiday Journal
July
I have been trapped in this private summer study house for the past 3 days. Forced to study at least 4 hours a day. My father was furious that my average grade at the end of the school year was only an (A). Four hours a day of studying is not too bad. Kiyo and I did manage to spend an afternoon lounging in the pool, Although Kiyo fell asleep, however, that is besides the point. My Father will entirely forget about me for the most part in about a week, after that point as long as I do not create trouble, he will go back to giving me a weekly allowance and acting as though I do not exist. My Father gives me money in place of love and affection. One good thing about being banished off to study house is that I did not have to return to my empty home and the reminder of my mother no longer being there to shower me with the love and affection my father is incapable of giving me. I really miss my mother and not really having anything to occupy my time has led me to dwell on the empty and lonely feeling left behind by her no longer being here. Kiyo has returned to Wynter Manor but we do plan to meet up in about a week after she has had time to spend with her father. Her father actually cares about her. I should get back to studying before I dwell too much in my thoughts and make myself depressed.
July 6:
While exploring Godric Hollow since Kiyoshi and I are staying here for 3 weeks, we met a muggle-born wixen named Toby. He is a little bit older than Kiyo and I. Toby is 13 and will be turning 14 in the spring, Kiyo and I on the other hand are 12 and will turn 13 at the end of October. Kiyo and I talked with Toby for a while, and then Rowena, a girl I had seen around Hogwarts before, joined the conversation for a few minutes and then ran off. Kiyo left shortly after Rowena to head back to the B&B to take a nap. I stayed behind to continue conversing with Toby. We had ended up talking about Godzilla and before I realized it, over an hour had passed. It seems I have a new acquaintance, I am not able to call Toby a friend for two reasons. The first reason is that we have just met and only had one conversation. The second reason is that my father would never allow it. Although those outside of his Dark Wizards are unaware, my father is a blood purist. Since Toby is muggle-born, my father will never allow me to become friends with him.
July 22:
The Art Festival in Godric Hollow came to an end today. I was able to take part in the sparkling torch parade and the beach BBQ that signify the closing of the festival. The BBQ was fun and the steak kabob was absolutely delicious. It was a very memorable evening. I played in the water at the beach, ate delicious food, talked with Kiyoshi and Rowena around a warm glowing bonfire, played with sparklers, and danced on the beach under fireworks. The entire night was wonderful. I noticed the muggle-born boy I met earlier this summer fast asleep by the warmth of the bonfire. If I remember correctly his name is Toby.
July 26:
Kiyoshi and I have spent the last two days on an adventure in the muggle amusement park called Disneyland. Yesterday we became separated on one of the rides, and locating Kiyo was extremely difficult through the huge crowd of muggles. I did end up spotting a giant troll, however it was just a statue. Today kiyo and I did a much better job staying together. We went on more rides and explored the amusement park. We spent a lot of time in the Japan section of the park since Kiyo and I are Japanese, British mixed race wixen. At some point today I was given a horse to ride and I brought him back to our hotel room. Kiyo made me give him back though. Apparently, free horses only means they are free to ride not keep. Muggles should be more clear about things.
August
August 3:
I have been at Camp Pinket, summer camphor wixen for the past week and it seems to have its ups and downs. I have been once again sorted away from my cousin and best friend Kiyoshi. Not only are we in different cabins but we are also pitted against each other in something called cabin wars. The camp has been fun, however, I wish I could enjoy camp and compete alongside Kiyo, not against her. I have also been gently nudged outside of my normal social paring with Kiyoshi and have begun to make some new….. I do not want to say friends just yet, however I have met some new acquaintances.
August 10:
Last night was the end of the camp dance. I ate entirely too many sweets and danced all night long. I may have also squished an older boy's face between my palms and yelled about amazing ice cream before running away. Not my finest moment for sure. I fell asleep among some pillows and monkey plush toys around dawn.
At the last camp lunch today the camp leader announced that my cabin had won the cabin wars. It was also announced that my cousin Kiyo and I had won the Stand By Me camp award. That award is awarded to best friends who are always by each other's side. The awards are voted on by the other campers. I voted for others to win this award but I am grateful that I won. Kiyoshi and I are almost always together so I can see why others voted for us.
August 19:
I cannot believe the train back to Hogwarts is in less than 2 weeks. It seems like the summer holiday just started and now it is almost over. Kiyoshi is currently on a trip to a muggle city called New York City with her father and has been gone for the past 3 or 4 days. I hope she is enjoying herself. I on the other hand went to a muggle Hello Kitty theme park by myself, and have been staying at my cousin and uncle's place. I have been spending most of my time listening to music, dancing around the manor, watching muggle movies, reading goosebumps books, and doing some studying. I am starting to become bored though and cannot wait for Kiyo’s return.
August 22:
Today would have been my mother's birthday. It is a very hard day for me. Kiyoshi did her best to keep me distracted today. We did some back-to-school shopping. Kiyo and have all-new uniforms for our second year at Hogwarts. It really was time for new uniforms. My uniforms from the first year were becoming vastly too small for me. We also purchased some new non-school books to bring with us to enjoy during our free time at school. I would have liked to smuggle in some muggle movies as well however there is no technology able to play the movies at the school. Maybe I can talk to the Muggle Studies Professor about using some muggle items to watch holiday movies near winter holidays if possible.
